May Track Talk

With just over two weeks until opening race day and our first event of the season, it is time for some updates on what is happening.

Sutherland Automotive Speedway will have the track open for practice on Friday May 24, and there will be a social for drivers, crews and sponsors in the garage at the speedway following the practice. Opening Day is Saturday, May 25. Derek Hordal and Ron Just are doing the pace truck driving.

Check out our new Corporate Contingency Partners; we are welcoming RIV Classic Car Toy Box, Brothers HDD, Fitzgerald Aggregates/Construction, Western Camp Services Edmonton and Brent Just Photography to the team. We are excited to feature the RIV Classic Car Toy Box Showdown on August 17 for a thrilling evening of racing.

Another great sponsor for our series is 5 Star Race Car Bodies who are providing us with banners, decals, quick qualifier decals and feature race winners decals. Decal packages will be brought to the race track and all trucks will have to apply decals then. All trucks will have to follow a provided template for placement of decals on trucks as per earlier distributed at the drivers meeting. And Auto Clearing Saskatoon is our Official Series Distributor. Grant Mills has agreed to once again host the Wind Up Banquet in Wainwright with the date to be announced. 

According to the rumor mill it looks like we have fourteen to sixteen race trucks for the opening show, wow, it is going to be spectacular!

May 24 - 1pm Track Open for Practice

 - 7pm Social in the Garage

June 22 - National Indigenous Peoples Day. Prairie RAM Dealer Activation Team in attendance.

July 19-20 - NASCAR Weekend. National TV Coverage.

August 10 - Memorial Tribute Race - Honoring past Super Trucks Series Members who helped to build our series. Sponsored by Brothers HDD, Wainwright. This race is also the Pro Late Model Bridge City 200 with $10,000 to win. 

August 17 - RIV Classic Car Toy Box Showdown, sponsored by RIV Classic Car Toy Box.

September 7 - Points Final. In conjunction with Martensville A&W 100 Street Stock Event.
